I discovered this book and its sister publication (TIHKAL) during an interesting period of my undergraduate career. The book has three parts. The first part documents Dr. Schulgin's development of Zectran at Dow Chemical and his ever evolving interest in psychoactive drugs and finally his love affair with his wife Ann. The second part is the "Love Story" depicted from Ann's point of view. The third part of the book is an index of interesting chemicals and a rather detailed library of their synthesis protocols.B was first synthesized and tested for psychoactivity in 1974 by the American chemist and psychedelic researcher Alexander Shulgin, who was investigating novel psychedelic compounds based on the chemical structure of mescaline.

I looked up at him and smiled, showing all my teeth, "I learned long ago that the most dangerous opponent is the one who tells you he hasn't been near the game in years. He's the one who'll wipe the board with you, while apologizing for being so terribly rusty." Shulgin's findings were later published in the 1991 book PiHKAL, in which he listed 2C-B among the "magical half-dozen" of psychedelic phenethylamines that he deemed most important. [2] The list consists of mescaline, DOM, 2C-B, 2C-E, 2C-T-2, and 2C-T-7. [7] In interviews, Shulgin repeatedly declared it his favorite psychedelic trip. [8] Vierte Verordnung zur Änderung betäubungsmittelrechtlicher Vorschriften" (PDF). Bundesgesetzblatt Jahrgang 1992 Teil I Nr. 61 (in German). Bundesanzeiger Verlag [Federal Gazette] (published December 31, 1992). December 23, 1992. p.1058. eISSN 0344-7634.However, there were sections of the book that were actually quite boring and I didn't care about. The sections I didn't care about were generally their life adventures, because it wasn't really about drugs and not what I was looking for, a chapter that is basically just a list of where DMT is naturally occurring in nature, and a chapter about a vivid dream that was brought on by drugs. I just didn't care.

Laughter fits - Anecdotal reports and literature suggest that 2C-B is capable of producing sudden fits of mild to intense laughter. B was first synthesised by Alexander Shulgin in 1974 and his findings were reported in his 1991 book entitled PiHKAL. Following its discovery, there was some reported use of 2C-B by psychotherapists in the 1970s, which was followed by a breakthrough of use into the recreational drug scene in the 70s and 80s. 2C-B had a short-lived legitimate history and was marketed as an aphrodisiac in smart shops in America and the Netherlands, before being classified as illegal in several countries, including the UK, in the 90s. The final chapter is a John Galt-like argument for the legalization and use of psychedelic drugs and a more libertarian approach to freedom with some light warnings against the slippery slope of government control. This is Shulgin at his most passionate. Tabella I" (PDF) (in Italian). Ministero della Salute [Ministry of Health]. p.8 . Retrieved January 7, 2020. B stands for 2,5-dimethoxy-4-bromophenethylamine, a synthetic drug with psychedelic effects. 2C-B is a phenylethylamine derivative and has a similar structure to mescaline, another psychedelic drug. It is described as a psychedelic drug with visual effects and some stimulant-like properties. Anecdotal reports draw similarities between LSD and MDMA.

How I rate this book is on a scale of 0 to awesome. But that doesn't mean it is without flaws or strangeness. You told me that you invent new psychedelics and that you have a group of people who try them out after you've made sure they're safe and ,/ He interrupted, "Not safe. There is no such thing as safety. Not with drugs and not with anything else. You can only presume relative safety. Too much of anything is unsafe. Too much food, too much drink, too much aspirin, too much anything you can name, is likely to be unsafe." United Kingdom: 2C-B is a Class A drug in the United Kingdom as a result of the phenethylamine catch-all clause. [40] I'll sign off this review with a transcript of the picture above, because I know that sometimes food is best eaten pure.
