The Denon AVR-X1700H isn’t breaking any new ground, which is probably why Denon isn’t yelling from the rooftops about it. It does add three HDMI 2.1 inputs which is great. But real enthusiasts will want the ability to run the latest room correction AND a full suite of speakers. The Denon AVR-X1700H is solidly aimed at the entry level enthusiasts who wants marginally more power than the Denon AVR-S760W offers, but wants upgraded HDMI ports. It doesn’t have every feature that we expect the more expensive receivers offer, but some may not need or want them. The AVR-X1700H has built-in amplification for seven speakers. Use all the channels in a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos® or DTS:X® home theater system — or go with a conventional 5.1setup and repurpose the extra two channels for music in another zone. Plenty of power under the hood AVR X1700 comes with a 7.2-channel amplifier. It supports 7.2 channel processing. With the help of internal amplifiers, you can convert this system into a 5.1.2 channel setup. The power generation capacity of this model per channel is 80 watts at 8Ohms. It produces 120 watts per channel at 6Ohms. Audyssey Suite: The AVR-X1700H features the Audyssey suite of powerful DSP features - including MultEQ XT speaker/room calibration, Dynamic Volume, and Dynamic EQ.LipSync: This function adjusts the delay between audio and video output. You can do this manually or have the receiver set the LipSync function automatically. When connected to a TV via HDMI the receiver automatically adjusts audio output timing, if the TV supports an automatic LipSync function. You can also manually delay the sound output up to 500ms to synchronize it with the video image. Supports Dolby Atmos®, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X: Enjoy an immersive, three-dimensional audio experience up to 7.2.4 with an additional 2ch amplifier

Unfortunately, our Installation Service excludes all gas appliances. It is the customer’s responsibility to find a gas safe engineer to connect the appliance. Any work conducted by a third part gas safe engineer will be at the customer’s expense and we will not accept any liability for their work.Users that want upgraded room correction, but don’t need or want dual sub optimization and the best tier of Audyssey Color Subsampling: The HDMI inputs and monitor output support RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, and YCbCr 4:2:0 color subsampling (pixel depth and frame rate will vary). With 4:4:4 color subsampling, luminance (brightness) and chroma (color) are sampled at the same rate; resulting in an RGB color palette as big as the video sampling rate for a video image with more colors, plus greater color accuracy and detail. The inbuilt class AB amplifier ensures that the distortion is eliminated while amplifying the audio. That is why the signal-to-noise ratio is pretty high.

Please note: It may be necessary to sign out from Deezer in the HEOS app under Music Sources > Online Music > Deezer and sign in again. The 'X1700H isn't as tall as Denon's larger, more powerful models, making ita solid choice if you're tight on shelf or cabinet space. Advanced video processing for movies and gaming Dual-zone capability, Audyssey Dynamic Volume, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, Audyssey MultEQ XT, web control, HEOS wireless multi-room technology, Apple AirPlay 2 support Denon AVR-X1700H has a sleek design. The controls that it offers at the front are minimal. It has a display, a couple of dials, and a few buttons. The majority of the ports are behind this AV receiver. The large display certainly increases the elegance and usability of this AV receiver. As for the build quality, it consists of a sturdy case along with feet at the bottom. Keeping it on any surface isn’t going to be a problem. Set the receiver's "4K/8K Signal Format" to "8K Enhanced" in the menu to enjoy 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video.

All of the receiver's six HDMI inputs support 4:4:4 chroma sub-sampling; the full family of current high dynamic range formats (HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log Gamma); 8K upscaling; and the eARC system for receiving lossless Dolby Atmos/DTS:X sound from connected, compatible displays. All feed into a single HDMI output. The X1700H is the entry level model in the X Series, despite its fancy, up-to-date HDMI stage. So: will fans of its trio of 8K-capable HDMI inputs have to swallow a sound quality compromise? Probably not if they’re coming from a previous, budget seven-channel model, perhaps even Denon’s own X1600H. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X mixes here sound clean, full of detail and nicely steered, creating a soundstage with enough scale to satisfy multiple seating positions in at least a mid-sized movie room. Above we spoke about the number of channels available in each AV receiver. However, to judge the AV receiver, you need to look at the audio capabilities. That is what we will highlight now. This AV receiver offers excellent staging with wide but stable separation. You cannot expect the same quality for music with low frequencies. The cohesive feel comes down drastically and falls short of musical insight. Denon high-end models perform much better than this receiver when dealing with low-frequency music. Verdict Dynamic Volume: Audyssey Dynamic Volume features advanced psycho-acoustic processing to deliver clear dialog and wide range sound at reduced volume levels so that you can enjoy theater-level clarity at whatever listening level you choose.
