If you’re like me, and you haven’t needed to print anything for the last decade, you might be lacking this particular cable.

Reverbs, EQ, OD, Delay, Chorus, Comp, and a few other effects were changed to sound better with a synthesizer. All guitar necks move and change over time so we will make sure that your frets are nice and flat as we go up the neck.

The audience for the GT-001 is pretty clear: you have a computer, and an instrument that is probably a guitar or a bass or anything miked up, and you want to record it, with a bunch of FX. The computer connection also allows access to the 'Boss Tone Studio' (BTC) software for editing and archiving patches, and access to a music player with phrase-training functions. It has amp simulations that cover an agnostic range of tones (favoring neither metal nor classic rock nor rockabilly, etc. Powered by newly developed BOSS technology, this cool and convenient function is great fun when working with Roland’s free Guitar Friend Jam software, and also lets you experiment with using your guitar to create MIDI sequences in music production software. You setup two tracks to record your guitar part on, then you can feed the raw guitar track back into the GT001 when mixing, and totally change up the tone.

I do have rectifiers, marks and an uberschall and I feel the models are close enough for my entertainment - I have not compared directly. If you play a beautiful chord on your beautiful, beautiful guitar, and you hear it even 1/20 (50 ms) of a second later, you will notice that. For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards.

To me, it also sounds fantastic in my quiet home context…some of the tones I can quickly get really kinda blow me away and are plenty inspiring…. Floor units aren't something I feel I've ever wanted or needed; I'd rather punch buttons, read displays, and tweak things with a device closer to my level when standing-- and since I don't usually change patches during songs it's a better physical format for me. Yes, that’s a shame, but the GT-001 does allow you to dial in the BPM to match your synth, sequencer, or in my case the Boss RC-202.Specially designed patches for vocals and acoustic guitars are included, providing great sound for monitoring and tracking. While the Boss GT-001 is not setup for synths straight out of the box, it can handle them very well once you go in and tweak the patches.

In addition to just about every effect you'd expect (stereo delays, chorus, flange, phase, harmonist, pitch shift, OD, distortion, reverb, eq, compressor, noise gate, panner, wah, etc. It's easy to capture great amp and effects tones directly into your DAW, and four audio channels provide lots of flexibility for recording, re-amping, and mixing. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It (inexplicably, for me) just doesn’t do that, and it’s the main criticism I have for the GT-001 as a whole. Hundreds of different possible effects, more than anybody could ever need, really easy to setup with Boss Tone Studio, with a great sound quality. The controls are few, but the logical, intuitive menu system and quick-access softkeys make things direct and simple in terms of editing every parameter for a chosen patch. Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right. If you’re totally new to USB recording, digital FX in general, or just want a “plug and play” solution to make some noise, the GT-001 definitely isn’t a good choice. I recently tried connecting it via USB to a computer running Linux even though there is no GT-001 driver, and the GT-001 is not class complaint. It’s not asking for much here, but it does show how the Tone Studio is designed and aimed: at high-level enthusiasts and at professionals.
