There’s also plenty of in-depth commentary from the production team, including production designer Stuart Craig and set decorator Stephenie McMillan, and it’s a fascinating read. My other main landmarks on this floor were the Room of Requirement (RoR) and Dumbledore’s office, so I tried to work out how they relate to each other. But the performance seems to be better than with the existing particle tools, which is really exciting.

The goal is to depict in 2D and/or 3D what Hogwarts and its surroundings look like in my head, factoring in all the details given in the books. Then it was just a matter of refining the coloration of the tree and texturing the rocks at the base! When I'm not daydreaming about being a world-traveling Magizoologist like Newt, you can find me reading, writing, learning languages, dabbling in design, and doing all things music- and film-related. We know the layout of Hogwarts is not 100% fixed; its magical properties do cause it to behave in some unusual ways. The blueprints often display notes on planned camera movements and special effects that will interact with the set, such as the moving snakes on the door to the Chamber of Secrets or the golden owl that preens itself on Dumbledore’s lectern via CGI.

In Quidditch Through the Ages, it says that a regulation Quidditch pitch is 500 feet long and 180 feet wide at the center. In her first foray into the Wizarding World, she edited and contributed to the New York Times best sellers Harry Potter: Film Wizardry and Harry Potter: Page to Screen. Other inconsistencies relate to the location of the Hospital Wing and the entrance to the staircase leading to Dumbledore’s office. Note the lack of even the small HBP training grounds tower, the dotted outline of the old DADA tower to be removed, and the more detailed plan of the new astronomy tower.

I’ve been eager and afraid to tackle it because of its complex geometry and the limited reference available. I’m not sure about the background, but the foreground architecture is all CG, and it matches neither the real-life location nor the miniature…although the corresponding spots at the location and on the miniature are never shown onscreen. Presumably, they were still part of that version, and at the time this drawing was created, they simply hadn’t yet decided to raise the quad, add the new arch, remove the cloister and fountain, etc.

The photogrammetry isn’t precise down to the millimeter – depending on the source images, the model can end up a little skewed. The technical drawings aren’t super precise either – for most areas, I don’t have detail drawings, only the overall floor plan. From the majestic Hogwarts Castle modeled after Christchurch to Professor Snape’s Cauldron, Hogsmeade Station, Honeydukes, and Hogs Head, the 260 pages of intricate blueprints and set production secrets invite readers on a magical journey. muito detalhado, mostra os desenhos técnicos das diversas localizações dos filmes e também objetos importantes que foram aparecendo. Doesn’t look like much yet, but the work has started; I’m just having to pace myself right now because of my repetitive strain injuries. This is the reason why this time, I made the blueprints of the castle since I couldn't find it anywhere. So the layout of any doors, windows, or other decorative elements on that part of the miniature sadly remains a mystery. As I said, I have less progress to share because of my ergonomic issues, not to mention the simple fact that this is a tricky structure to figure out.
