So, expect them all to have a lot of foot sloggers, but again, the values have been all over the place, so we’ll have to see the final price. From the looks of it, GW may release one of these box sets for every faction… Ah, the Blood Angels– noble and civilised sons of Sanguinius, most handsome, tragic, star-crossed and pretty of all the Emperor’s ‘Primarch’ sons. These renaissance Italy-themed space marines are among the most storied and popular chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. Second, the Combat Patrol versions of each faction’s datasheets army rules are different from their main Index. Datasheets are simpler, and armies have access to different Stratagems, and enhancements.

She’s joined by five Celestian Sacresants, nine Sisters Repentia whipped into a frenzy by a Repentia Superior, and 10 Battle Sisters who can be built as Dominions or Celestians, plus one Cherub lugging a censer along for the ride (because these ships can smell a bit after millennia in the warp and the STC for pine-scented air fresheners is sadly lost to the Age of Strife). Five Pteraxii Sterylizors provide a potent deep strike threat with their phosphor torches, and three Serberyrs Sulphurhounds are fast, flame-spewing cavalry who can trade up into tougher foes. Inside the Codex is a guide on how to get your Purge Corps Deltic-9 painted in the livery of Mars, and some tips for tipping engagements in your favour.Aesthetic– Models in this faction are utterly distinct from any other. The 60s era retro-futuristic Kastelan Robot, the wasteland cavalry Serberys Raider, the spider-tank Onager Dunecrawler: every model in this faction is positively dripping with style. These are sort of like small Combat Patrol boxes but made specifically to be fielded for games of Warhammer 40k Boarding Actions. All Skitarii in your army gain the optimisation but also suffer from the deprecation. If you are clever, you can use a Skitarii Marshall to cancel out the deprecation effect on a single unit in a key turn, taking your opponent off guard.

Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus and Codex: Necrons are both on the immediate horizon, and each brings a new Combat Patrol box of cold-hearted logisticians who want nothing more than to snuff out biological life with their superior technology. The Skorpekh Lord and its Destroyer pals can advance, cutting their way through any enemy unit foolish enough to get close, while the Necrons Warriors follow behind, supporting with volleys of deadly gauss fire. Indomitus Space Marines Alongside these, the Space Marine Boarding Patrol that’s out now, and the three further sets recently announced for the Necrons, Tyranids, and Grey Knights, there are even more boxes to come for other factions in the 41st Millennium. This Boarding Patrol contains 17 models in total – one gunslinging Kelermorph inspires a team of 10 Acolyte Hybrids, who can also be built as Hybrid Metamorphs, while a hulking Abominant is joined by his little Mindwyrm Familiar friend, and five nearly-as-hulking Aberrants. You might notice a few references to Imperial Knights in the AdMech codex. Adeptus Mechanicus are in a unique spot in the Imperium, as they have special ties to Imperial Knights in the fluff, with fully half the Knight Households being devoted to the Machine God specifically rather than the Imperium in general. To represent this, AdMech can grant Knights access to Canticles of the Omnissiah, as described above. It’s all fun and games until the 12 meter war machine gains light cover or gets a free reroll of a hit, wound, and damage dice. The Arks of Omen have taken the galaxy by storm! Everyone seems to want one, and more and more factions are mustering Boarding Patrols to get in on the latest craze going down in Segmentum Obscurus. Stripping themselves of the undue burden of organic components, followers of the Adeptus Mechanicus worship the Machine God in any way they can. From the simple act of being a nameless cog in the great forge worlds, to the holy acts of sacraments performed upon the blessed Bolt Rifle before battle, the AdMech is pervasive throughout the Imperium, but also a wholly distinct group on their own.
