Description

The 160e Series and Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm use a RadioLINK Module,Ei100MRF,directly into the head of the alarm to gain RadioLINK+ capabilities instead of a base. Performing a regular test is a vital part of ensuring continued Fire and Carbon Monoxide detection. Alarms should be tested monthly to ensure everything is working correctly. Features built-in tamper proof Rechargeable Vanadium Pentoxide lithium standby cells, capable of lasting at least 10 years and powering the module initially for at least 2 months in the event of mains power failure. The cell manufacturer endorses a minimum 10-year life expectation for the rechargeable cells, which are activated by operating the battery switch inside the module. Above this is the ‘Replace By’ date, but note that the date on the label shows the maximum life of the alarm and alarms should always be replaced before their life is up.

Never ignore a beeping alarm, as it is a warning sign of either a danger in the home or that an alarm needs maintenance. If you have more than one alarm in the property and they are interconnected, this will also trigger all the other alarms in the property. The Ei168 base will normally be wired to the nearest mains circuit in the ceiling (usually the lighting circuit). The alarm is then slid onto the base rather than to its mounting plate. As many as twelve units can be interconnected in this way Turn the mains power to the alarms off in the property and ensure the green indicator light on the alarm is off. A mixed wired and wireless system is often referred to as a hybrid system. To set a hybrid system up. Simply fit one Ei168RC base to an alarm in the existing alarms and any new alarms with Ei168RC bases.Step 5 – Repeat the House Code process in Steps 1-4 above with all the bases or alarms in your system. If you are using an Alarm Controller Ei450 this will continue for as long as you hold down the ‘Test’ button. Battery Powered Carbon Monoxide Alarms – The Ei208 and Ei208W alarms contain a sealed in 10-year life lithium cell and have built-in AudioLINK data extraction technology. The Ei208 is a standalone unit, whilst the Ei208W is upgradeable to RadioLINK+ with a Ei200MRF module. Also available in this range is the Ei208WRF with built-in RadioLINK+. There is likely to be Carbon Monoxide present. Turn off any gas appliances, open windows and doors and leave the property. Please let us know should you like to discuss anything and we’ll get you in touch with an electrician who can provide a professional advice! It provides wireless interconnect between alarms, i.e. when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the system sound. Designed for use with the Easi Fit range of alarms and its fully compatible with any Ei160 or Ei140;series alarms. - It is from here that the radio signals are transmitted and received. Range: The type of building will be the major limiting factor e.g. the number and type of walls/ceilings that the radio signal has to pass through. As a guide, 30m should be the maximum distance between any of the RadioLINK units in the system. RF Visual Indicator: Amber light flashes continuously for 1.5 to 3.5 seconds while transmitting RF signalThe Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a Radio Frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF alarm signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached smoke or heat alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to run long interconnect wires between all the smoke alarms on different floors and in different rooms. Once installation is complete House Code the alarms together into a system. If any alarm, hard-wired or wireless, is now triggered it will sound all the alarms in the system. Is there anything on the same circuit that could be causing electrical interference, e.g. a fluorescent light starter or a central heating pump? A RadioLINK Manual Call Point, Ei407 and remote control switches Ei450, Ei412 and Ei411H are also available for use in the system. See separate specification sheet(s) for further information. The four-digit code shows you the year and week that the alarm was made. The first two digits relate to the year and the second two digits relate to the week.

The model number of each alarm and accessory is noted on the side of the product, along with the age and replace by date. You can type this number into the search bar above to find out all the details of your alarm.Data Extraction Retrieve data from alarm systems in individual dwellings to securely monitor alarm events. If it is a regular single beep (approximately once every minute), then the battery may be running low, and you may need to change the battery in the alarm. This is relevant for the 140RC Series alarms. Our goal is to provide one stop place for electricians and electrical contractors, but we are happy to help other clients too. If the alarm contains AudioLINK – Once the alarm has stopped activating and it is safe to enter the property extract a report to identify the details of the incident.
