Battery chargers have come a long way in the last 10 years. Time was you needed a different unit for your bike from your car and the charging technology was clumsy and a bit ‘brute-force’. Smart chargers changed all that and many, like this one, have algorithms that assess the condition of your battery and apply the optimal charging cycle to keep it healthy. How are these with the outdoors? If I were to use it in my shed that doesn't offer a sealed environment away from the cold, would itcope? November 21, 2017

Bulk Fast Charge - Charges at a fast rate to bring the battery to approximately 85% capacity, then lowers the charge rate and gives a topping charge to ensure the battery is charged to 100% complete with ALL tags in place, helmet bag, manual, protective plastic on visor and any other associated parts supplied. Can this charger be used for both cars and bikes with the battery still attached? December 19, 2017 These put some load on the battery so that it isn’t simply under constant charge, as this can also, paradoxically, damage the battery and reduce its capacity as well.Permanent connector cable for all Oxford battery chargers. Ideal for use if you want to leave a cable ... From the instruction manual: Use this charger for charging a LEAD-ACID battery type only (VRLA, GEL, AGM, MF). It is suitable for charging batteries The solution, of course, is to leave your bike with its battery on charge when it’s not being used. This is particularly true for bikes that are laid up for winter, and in this case, a battery optimiser/maintainer can be useful, as it not only charges the battery but it carries out a series of conditioning cycles. A poorly fitting helmet may not only be uncomfortable, more noisy and may move around when riding if too big or give headaches etc if it is too small, it is also dangerous. A helmet simply will not protect or perform as designed if the head inside it is not snuggly fitted against the impact absorbing material inside the shell.

Can this oximiser be used with VRLA (valve regulated lead acid) battery, manythanks. December 6, 2017 Tested by Richard Newland for five months across six vehicles. Quality 5/5, Value 3/5. Dead batteries are like flat tyres – utterly infuriating and one of the least glamourous replacement parts in biking. But critical to your riding pleasure. While you can't prevent punctures, you can prevent dead cells with a motorcycle battery charger and conditioner. is it a dual battery charger? Can it be used on both Lithium ion & lead acidbatteries? The ‘charge’ mode gives a constant current of either 0.8 Amps or 3.6 Amps depending on the charge mode selected. I bought this item and connected it up. It charges on bulk charge 0.87 amps then drops to maintain at 0.25 amps. I left it on for two days, the battery shows 12.8 volts plus, but it won't turn the engine over enough to start. If I use my old style car charger it will charge up ok but doesn't hold the charge for more than a few days even with the oximiser attached. Anyadvice? November 6, 2017

The measurements are approximately 34 inches from the plug to charger, the lead from the charger to the connector is around 37 inches, and there is around 12 inches length on the battery connection lead. There is no difference between this and the AnniversaryEdition. The battery on my bike is a AGM (absorbed glass Matt) sealed lead acid battery. This type of battery isn't listed for the this charger. Is the Oxford Oximiser 900 suitable to use on this type ofbattery? July 30, 2019It offers not one but THREE automatted charging programs for differing battery sizes - perfect for bikes, cars and even leisure batteries! So, if you have multiple toys in your garage, it's the only battery optimiser you'll ever need. Less than twice the price of the Oximiser 900, it's 3 times the product! Battery optimiser are supposed to partly discharge and then recharge a battery every xx days. In doing this, sulphur deposits are left on the plates, which over time reduces the capacity of the battery. Equalising cleans the sulphur from the plates and re-energises the acid. This is why optimiser kill batteries, and why cheap battery chargers can't recover a dead battery. The Oximiser 3X features a ‘soft-start’ charging mode to improve recovery of deeply discharged batteries as low as 8Volts. The intelligent charging feature will ‘cycle-charge’ in an attempt to recover sulphated batteries and it is suitable for all 12V automotive batteries, including LITHIUM LiFeP04 motorcycle batteries. Maintain Mode - Applies an appropriate charge if voltage drops outside acceptable limits to ensure the battery voltage and condition remains perfect What length are cables that come with this, ie mains plug to charger and charger to bike. Also what difference between this and aniversary edition, same price except for a few coloured buttons on front? September 20, 2018
